Treat Sleep Apnea without a Mask
Incare Pulmonary and Sleep Specialists is one of only a handful of comprehensive centers in the country where virtually all modern treatments are available for patients suffering from sleep apnea. We are proud to offer Inspire therapy, a new treatment option for patients with obstructive sleep apnea. This innovative solution can offer relief to sleep apnea sufferers who cannot tolerate CPAP.
Inspire is the only FDA approved obstructive sleep apnea treatment that works inside your body to treat the root cause of sleep apnea. It’s a small device placed during a same-day, outpatient procedure.
What is Inspire® therapy?
Inspire therapy is a mask-free1 solution for people with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) who have tried and struggled with CPAP. Through a simple-to-use system including the Inspire® implant, Inspire™ remote and Inspire® app, Inspire therapy enables you to control your OSA treatment from the palm of your hand.
How Inspire® therapy works
Inspire therapy implant works comfortably inside your body to treat the root cause of your OSA. The Inspire implant uses gentle pulses to keep your airway open, allowing you to continue breathing regularly, without disrupting sleep. Most patients report they feel nothing at all during sleep when their Inspire implant is set at the correct therapy level for them. Once your implant has been activated you are able to turn your Inspire therapy on and off using a handheld Inspire remote.
Inspire is controlled using the small, hand-held Inspire sleep remote with no mask or hose needed. You simply turn the therapy on before bed—you can adjust stimulation strength and pause stimulation during the night if needed—and off when you wake. It’s therapy that can help you take control of your sleep apnea and get the restful sleep you’ve been missing.

Inspire is an FDA-approved treatment for OSA that has helped over 90,000 OSA patients across the globe. It works by implanting the Inspire system under the skin of the neck and chest with 2 small surgical incisions during an outpatient procedure, meaning you can go home the same day as the procedure. Most patients recover from the short surgical procedure quickly and only require over-the-counter medication to control any discomfort.
Inspire clinical trial results published in January 2014 concluded that patients who use the Inspire treatment had significant reductions in sleep apnea events and substantial improvement in their quality of life. These improvements were sustained during a five-year follow-up in 2019.
- 90% of patients’ bed partners reported soft or no snoring.
- Patients had a 79% reduction in sleep apnea events.
- 96% of Inspire patients say Inspire is a better, more comfortable treatment compared to CPAP and would recommend it to others.
94% of patients prescribed Inspire treatment reported satisfaction.
